Vivienne Blackadder is in the two "JAG" episodes "Ice Queen" and "Meltdown". She was FBI before her brother Rex died in the terrorist attack on the USS Cole. They were close; he taught her to track and called her "Pocahontas." Beause of his death, she left the FBI to join NCIS. When NCIS captures one of the terrorists behind the Cole attack, she wants in on questioning, but Gibbs warns her that NCIS is not her tool to avenge her brother.
When Blackadder officially joined NCIS is up in the air. The attack on the Cole was October 2000, so if she joined any time in the next year (through October 2001), she would have joined NCIS even before Tony did (he joined October 2001 ["The Curse"]. It could be that she either joined NCIS early and later joined Gibbs' team or that she joined NCIS after Tony and was added to Gibbs' team immediately. Tony's comment that she "hooked up with us" and Gibbs' inclination to put Tony in charge seems to indicate that, at any rate, Tony was on the team before Viv. |

Blackadder seems rather green - once she apologizes to Gibbs for not knowing where he was going with an interrogation. She later stares a little too long at their terrorist target, and Gibbs has to scramble to catch him. She is serious and driven and has been deeply affected by her brother's death. She is a competent agent, however; when Gibbs gives her two days to finish a bio on the terrorist he has to interrogate--something which would usually takes weeks--she has it ready and complete for him before he leaves. The information is vital to Gibbs' getting the suspect to slip and to reveal where he had been.
On a lighter note, Ducky keeps asking her out to dinner and can identify her by her perfume; she replies that she doesn't date men her father's age. Interestingly, she is a redhead--a darker red tinged with brown. One fan has pointed out that her desk was not Kate's; Blackadder's desk is now occupied by McGee. From Kip: Vivienne is DPB's wife's name. And Blackadder is her mother's maiden name. |

Kate's successor: Ziva David
Ziva David is played by Cote de Pablo.
Ziva David first appears in the Season 3 premiere. (Her name means "bright" or "radiant" in Hebrew.) She works for Israel's Mossad and is acting as an exchange agent and liasion to NCIS.
